We found out the morning of Monday, September 20, 2010. We immediately scheduled a doctors appointment that afternoon to confirm. It was true! What a blessing!
Next, we wanted to think of a creative way to tell the family. It nearly killed us to keep in the excitement until my birthday on October 5th (which was the next time we would see all of the family in the same weekend.) However, this also gave us time to think of the perfect idea. We (along with the help of my sweet friend, Ciara) came up with the idea of Brady giving his "birthday gift" to me when other members of the family did. They were SO surprised to see what I pulled out of the gift bag!
The above picture was taken as I pulled the bib out of the bag in front of my mom, sister, and grandmother. As soon as they caught on, tears of joy were shed.
We told Brady's family as we were eating lunch at Sister's. Same thing happened, I pulled the bib out of the bag, but it took everybody a little bit longer to catch on (mainly because everybody was not looking at the same time). Erica was the first to notice, and then everyone caught on. We were the most nervous about their reactions, but it was much better than we expected. We later went to break the news to MawMaw and PawPaw where they did NOT catch on and we had to just come out and tell them! We love them so!
Next on the list to tell: my daddy and Mimmie! We honestly did not know what kind of reaction to expect. I was very surprised at how my daddy absorbed the news. They caught on quick, but he was very quiet and remained quiet throughout dinner at Cajun Corner....almost like he was sad that he is now an official "old grandpa" man and his little girl is grown up!
Again, No words....One of the happiest times of our lives!
