First Haircut!

We went to Rebecca's to get Braylor's first haircut on Friday, June 15th. I was BEYOND ready to get it cut! It was everywhere!

When we finished, we visited Nana at her work and ate at Ruby Tuesday. We then went and spent the afternoon with Granmona. Mommy and Braylor were so glad Daddy took off work to join us! It was a fun day!

An apple a day keeps the doctor away!

An apple a day keeps the doctor away! Well, in our case, a banana a day! Braylor has not been sick his whole first year of life. He has had a runny nose a couple of times when he was teething, other than that, completely HEALTHY! We could not ask for a better blessing!

We took this picture at his 1 year check-up on June 4th. This was the first time he has NOT liked the doctor nor getting shots. He was not a happy camper! He weighed 26 pounds 4 ounces (90th percentile) and was 30 3/4 inches (85th percentile).

Braylor's 1st Birthday Party!

The day of Braylor's birthday party was a gorgeous day! However, it was VERY windy, and we had a hard time keeping everything on the tables. The balloons went CRAZY!

 The next table was decorated with his monthly pictures all around it. Again, the wind kept messing them up! On the table was lemonade, favors, his smash cake, and a book for everyone to write him a note and sign their name in. I got this idea from a parent of a student that I taught. She did this for her daughter's first birthday and since then, 3 grandparents and her teenage sister have passed away. It is very special that she has this now, and I wanted Braylor to have the same thing.

Cheese, Nana's cheese straws, fruit, Granmona's fruit dip, peanut butter M&M pretzel banana sticks, and chips and salsa. I was very proud of how the banana sticks turned out. Pinterest inspired! Also, not pictured is another cupcake stand and the ranch pepper crackers.

We had a blast!!  

1 Year Old Day!

Already a year old??? Wow. Time has really flown by. As I sit and reflect on this past year, it was an amazingly life-changing year. Since Braylor was born, I started a new job at Eufaula Elementary School teaching a new grade (4th). Talk about a change!!! Whew! I was full-time in grad school and FINISHED. I lost almost all my baby weight (I gained 60+ pounds), and got back into all my clothes! All of this happened with us doing EVERYTHING on our own! No help from anyone! Braylor has never spent the night away from home and only twice has someone spent the night to help us. It is a good feeling to say that we have accomplished so much on our own! We made LOTS of sacrifices, but WE did it. We wouldn't change a thing. I can speak for both of us when I say it has been the BEST year of our lives!

We went to the Montgomery Zoo to celebrate big boy's first birthday. This was a first for him. We also experienced locking the keys in the car for the first time. Not fun! Brady says it was my fault and I say it was his. Ha! Regardless, it happened, and we tried not to let it put a damper in our day! Thankfully, the nice policeman got it unlocked for us free of charge. Heather came to join us at the zoo. Braylor loved any animal that was moving.

We went and ate at Chic-fil-a for lunch. Braylor loves the nuggets and fries! After playing in the play area for a while, we concluded our trip. On the way home, we stopped by to see our buddy, Benjamin. Then, we surprised Granmona by stopping to see her at her work. All in all, it was a great birthday!
